1: please can somebody let me know the good effective secondary profession with the ranger for soloing in nightfall. people have said R/rit is the best but is it worth getting factions for that combo?

2: Is ranger a good less frustrating profession for soloing than say the warrior?

R/Rt is no longer a good farming option, it was nerfed few weeks ago.

Splinter Barrage is still effective as R/Rt over all secondary is up to you.I would also say Warrior do make better farmers but there is another forum for that topic.

would ranger/assassin be the good combo since the assassin could use ritical strike ability with dagger mastery for close combat when the monsters close quick as they do? this may be better than R/rit

Since "soloing" means different things to different people, you need to specify whether you mean actually going out by yourself, or going out with a team of Heroes & Henchies.

If you're thinking bow+dagger on skill bar, the answer is no.
